Knightswood Library with Hoopoe
Knightswd2
Elements of the area's Templar background pervade this picture. The hoopoe was a bird which carried messages for King Solomon to the Queen of Sheba. The autodidact, book in hand, is flying out to welcome the parent and child to the empty place of learning and the hoopoe, as the bearer of wisdom follows him. Libraries which have embraced the new technology of the modern age are just as vital to the development of young people as they have ever been.
