Layout
entire
When approaching the layout I envisaged separate panels relating to several different writers, but with some kind of general theme running through the entire work which would draw all the panels together. When I studied the site it became apparent that the top row of panels would not afford the viewer much in the way of detail because of its height. These panels would be the abstract composition which would pull both sides together (evening sky). In the lower panels the writers and their works are ordered in terms of realism: the realism is in the centre and the fantastic is on the outside (this is a purely subjective judgement).
I wanted to produce a work which could engage from a distance and sustain even on closer examination.
