"Titania"
 2014, 23" x 27", framed. POA

The faerie queen wakens from her sleep in the moonlit forest under the spell of Oberon. The potion of the purple pansies, or "love-in-idleness", causes the wild spirit to become madly obsessed with the first person she encounters on wakening. This is the ludicrous peasant, Bottom, who already wears an ass's head courtesey of the mischievous Puck.
In this representation of the beautiful Titania she is stretching after her slumber and displaying the powerful mixture of carnal and magical which infuses this play. Her underlings, Peaseblossom, Moth, and Cobweb are with her, and Bottom can be seen wandering through the moonlit forest towards her in the background.
